Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal information Rocklin Gutter Guard collects through rocklingutterguard.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are a gutter installation, repair, and maintenance contractor based in Rocklin, California, serving Placer, Sacramento, and El Dorado counties. We do not sell your personal information.
Information you give us
The only personal information we ask you for is what we need to respond to a service request. When you submit our estimate request form, we collect:
- Your name — so we know who we are talking to.
- Your email address — to send you a written estimate and confirmations.
- Your phone number — to reach you about scheduling and site access.
- Your ZIP code — to confirm you are inside our service area and to price travel and terrain correctly.
- The service you are requesting and any optional note you choose to add.
If you call or email us instead, we receive whatever information you choose to share in that conversation. If you become a customer, we also keep the ordinary records a licensed contractor keeps: the service address, the scope of work, photographs of the work area, estimates, invoices, and payment records.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, health information, or precise geolocation. Please do not include information like that in the optional note field.
Information collected automatically
This site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics. Those tools set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser and collect technical and usage data, including:
- Pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the links you click.
- The site or search that referred you to us.
- Your approximate location, derived from your IP address at the city or region level.
- Device and browser characteristics, such as screen size, operating system, and language.
Our web host also generates standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability purposes.
How we use your information
- To prepare and deliver the estimate you asked for.
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on gutter work.
- To answer your questions and handle warranty or service issues.
- To keep the business records, invoices, and job documentation a licensed California contractor is expected to keep.
- To understand which pages and service areas people find useful, so we can improve the site.
- To protect the site against fraud, abuse, and technical problems, and to comply with the law.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not buy personal information from data brokers.
Who receives your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we specify:
- Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) — website analytics and tag management. Google receives the automatically collected usage data described above.
- Resend — the transactional email service that delivers your form submission to our inbox. Resend processes the contents of that submission in transit.
- Netlify — our web host, which serves the site and generates server logs.
- Google Workspace — the email inbox where your request arrives and is stored.
We may also disclose information when we are legally required to, such as in response to a subpoena or a lawful request from a government agency, or when necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. If the business is ever sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we have a reason to. Estimate requests that do not turn into work are kept while we are still following up and are then deleted. Records tied to completed work — contracts, invoices, photographs, and warranty documentation — are kept for as long as the applicable warranty, tax, and California contracting recordkeeping obligations require, and for as long as we may need them to defend a claim. Analytics data is retained according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics property.
Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and are used to tell repeat visits apart from new ones and to measure how the site is used. Nothing on this site requires cookies in order to work — you can browse, read, and submit the estimate form with them blocked. To limit or remove them, you can:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, including third-party cookies specifically.
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which stops Google Analytics from collecting data about you on any site.
- Turn on "Do Not Track" or a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. Because there is still no common standard for how sites must respond to Do Not Track, we treat these signals as a request to opt out of analytics tracking where our tools support it.
- Use your browser's private or incognito mode.
Your California privacy rights
We are a California business serving California residents, and we honor the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA):
- Right to know. You can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
- Right to delete. You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. We may keep what we are legally required to keep, such as completed contracts, invoices, and tax records.
- Right to correct. You can ask us to fix personal information about you that is inaccurate.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and add a clear opt-out mechanism before the change takes effect.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined by the CPRA.
- Right to non-discrimination. Exercising any of these rights will never affect your pricing, your place in our schedule, or the quality of service you receive.
To exercise any of these rights, call us at (916) 415-3836 or email rocklingutterguard@gmail.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. Tell us which right you want to exercise. We will confirm your request and respond as required by law. To protect your information, we will need to verify that you are the person the information belongs to — usually by matching the email address or phone number you originally gave us. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission from you, and we may still contact you to confirm it.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging work on a property. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us at the phone number or email address above and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. We limit access to customer records to the people who need it to do the work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send payment card numbers or other sensitive details through the website form.
Links to other sites
Our articles sometimes link to manufacturers, government agencies, and other outside sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes to how we use information already collected will be described here before they take effect.
