Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms apply to your use of rocklingutterguard.com and to gutter work performed by Rocklin Gutter Guard. If we send you a written proposal and you sign it, that signed contract governs the work itself. These terms cover the website and fill in the general expectations around how we quote, schedule, and perform jobs.
Who we are
Rocklin Gutter Guard is a gutter contractor based in Rocklin, California, holding California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) license #1114092. You can verify that license, and see the classifications, bond, and workers' compensation status attached to it, on the CSLB website at cslb.ca.gov. The CSLB is also where you can direct a complaint about licensed contracting work in California.
Services we provide
We install, replace, repair, clean, and maintain gutter systems on residential and commercial property — including seamless gutters, downspouts, gutter guards and leaf guards, and related fascia and soffit work. We serve Placer, Sacramento, and El Dorado counties. Work outside that area, and work that falls outside the classifications on our license, is subject to our acceptance and may be referred elsewhere.
We are not a roofing contractor, and we are not a structural, drainage, or soil engineer. Where a job depends on the condition of a roof, a foundation, or a subsurface drainage system, our scope is limited to the gutter and downspout components described in your proposal.
Estimates and pricing
- Submitting the form on this site is a request for an estimate. It does not create a contract and does not reserve a spot on our schedule.
- Prices, ranges, and cost examples published anywhere on this website — including in our blog articles, cost guides, and service pages — are general market information for planning purposes. They are not offers and they are not quotes for your property.
- A binding price comes only from a written proposal for your specific property, and it covers only the scope of work stated in that proposal.
- Written proposals are valid for the period stated on the proposal itself. Material and fabrication costs move, so an expired proposal may need to be re-quoted.
- If conditions we could not see during the walkthrough change the work — rotted fascia behind existing gutters, undersized or damaged downspout runs, hidden framing problems, or previously concealed damage — we will stop, tell you what we found, and get your written approval on a change order before continuing. You are not charged for extra work you have not approved.
Scheduling, weather, and cancellation
Gutter work is weather-dependent. Rain, high wind, and unsafe roof or ladder conditions can force us to move an appointment, and safety decisions are ours to make. When that happens we will contact you and reschedule to the next workable date.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, tell us as far ahead as you can, by phone or email, so we can release the slot. Any cancellation charge, deposit condition, restocking cost for custom-fabricated material, or trip fee that applies to your job will be stated in your written proposal — we do not apply charges that are not written there. Where California law gives you a right to cancel a signed home improvement contract within a set period, that right and the deadline are stated in the contract you sign, and nothing here shortens or waives it.
Access to your property
To do the work safely and on schedule, we need you to:
- Confirm you own the property or are authorized to have the work done, and obtain any HOA, architectural committee, or landlord approval that applies.
- Give our crew access to the roofline on the scheduled day, including gates, side yards, and driveway space for a truck and ladders.
- Move or tell us about vehicles, patio furniture, planters, pool equipment, solar components, satellite dishes, low-voltage wiring, irrigation, and anything fragile sitting near the drip line.
- Secure pets, and keep children away from the work area and from ladder footings while the crew is on site.
- Point out known hazards, such as damaged fascia, brittle tile, unstable ground, wasp or bird nests, or prior repairs we would not otherwise see.
Some gutter work requires walking or laddering against a roof. We take normal precautions, but on brittle tile, older shingles, and aging roof structures there is a level of risk we cannot eliminate. If we believe access would damage your roof, we will tell you before proceeding rather than absorb the risk silently.
Workmanship and warranty
We stand behind our installations. The warranty that applies to your job — what it covers, how long it runs, and what it excludes — is stated in the written proposal and warranty documentation you receive for that job. Manufacturer warranties on gutter guards, coil, and other materials are provided by those manufacturers and are passed through to you on their terms.
Warranty coverage generally does not extend to:
- Damage from storms, falling limbs, fire, seismic events, or other causes outside our control.
- Overflow or failure caused by debris that was allowed to accumulate, where the system requires periodic cleaning.
- Work altered, repaired, or added to by someone else after we finished.
- Pre-existing conditions in the roof, fascia, siding, foundation, or site drainage that we did not install and were not contracted to correct.
- Consequences of a scope you declined — for example, keeping undersized gutters or existing downspout routing when we recommended otherwise.
If something is not performing the way we said it would, contact us. We would rather come back and look at it than have you live with it.
Payment
Payment amounts, schedule, and accepted methods are set out in your written proposal. California limits what a contractor may collect as a down payment on a home improvement contract, and any deposit we ask for will comply with that limit. Please do not send payment card details through the website form or by email.
Using this website
You may read, print, and share pages from this site for your own use. Please do not scrape it at scale, republish our articles as your own, use the site to send us false or misleading information, attempt to interfere with it, or use it for anything unlawful. The text, photographs, layout, and the Rocklin Gutter Guard name and marks on this site belong to us or are used with permission.
Our articles, checklists, and code references are educational. Building codes, fire-zone designations, permit requirements, and HOA rules change and vary by jurisdiction, and what applies to a home two streets over may not apply to yours. Verify anything you plan to rely on with your local building department, your HOA, your insurer, or a licensed professional before acting on it. Links to outside sites are provided for convenience; we do not control their content.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The website is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or complete, and we are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of information published here.
For work we actually perform, our responsibility is to do it in a workmanlike manner and to honor the warranty in your proposal. To the fullest extent California law allows, and except where liability cannot be limited by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability arising out of a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing here limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Insurance claims and third parties
We can document conditions and provide invoices and photographs to support an insurance claim, but we do not adjust claims, we do not represent you before your insurer, and we cannot promise a claim will be approved or that a particular amount will be paid.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Placer County, California, unless your signed contract provides another process. Before starting anything formal, please contact us directly — most problems on a gutter job are faster to solve with a phone call and a return visit. You may also contact the CSLB about licensed contracting work.
Changes, severability, and precedence
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change when we do, and the version in effect when you engaged us is the one that applies to that job. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Where these website terms and a signed proposal or contract disagree, the signed contract controls.
